The company "Web Server" has released a new version of the Russian open source web server Angie 1.4.0. The updates include support for the HTTP/3 protocol for connections to proxied servers.

Thus, alongside the existing support for HTTP/3 on the client connection side, a similar ideology-based but independently configurable proxying functionality has been added. In particular, this allows for more efficient operation in situations where clients using HTTP/1.1 or HTTP/2 connect to a server utilizing HTTP/3 through Angie. Ultimately, this enhances the versatility of the solution, especially compared to scenarios of end-to-end proxying dictated by the client protocol.

Additionally, a gradual load increase mode has been implemented for proxied servers recovering from failures, allowing for a smooth return to operation over a specified interval. There are also directives for limiting MP4 streaming to reduce the load on server infrastructure.

Support for load balancing for the MQTT protocol, popular in Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, has been improved. Our package collection has seen another addition — a third-party module auth-ldap, which adds LDAP authentication with support for multiple servers. Other packages with third-party modules have also been updated, as well as the Console Light version.

Recently, we opened the source code for Console Light, added a ModSecurity integration module to the packages, a popular WAF tool for protecting websites from cyberattacks, and certified support for the "ROSA Chrome" system, releasing packages for it.
