The company "Web Server" announced the release of the new version of the Russian web server Angie PRO 1.3.0.

The updated version includes several significant changes:

Support for conditional binding of connections to proxied servers—this allows proxying NTLM connections with authentication used with Microsoft technologies, such as Exchange or Active Directory. A new load balancing method between proxied servers, which relies on calculating the average response time of the server to requests (this is particularly relevant when replacing Citrix ADC, F5 BigIP, and similar solutions), as well as corresponding metrics in the API. Various embedding capabilities for monitoring, including a visual web monitoring page—Console Light, which displays key performance and load indicators of the server.

Finally, version Angie PRO 1.3.0 includes all the latest updates from the open-source web server Angie 1.3.0, listed below.

One of the main innovations is the support for multiple URI request matching patterns for the same configuration context (the "location" directive). This reduces the amount of configuration and lowers the likelihood of user errors. Additionally, the new version expands the capabilities for obtaining statistics in Prometheus format, simplifying the construction of monitoring systems in modern infrastructure through additional template configuration using labels and types.

Among other notable innovations:

Versioning of configurations for individual web server processes, which facilitates monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution; the ability to obtain the current server configuration via HTTP API.

Finally, two innovations that were previously added in version 1.1.0 only for HTTP are now available in the context of data streaming (the "stream" module):

Statistics for proxied servers, which expands the functionality coverage of Angie with metrics; dynamic adaptation of the list of addresses of proxied servers to changes in DNS, taking into account SRV records, allowing for faster scaling of services and changing settings without resource overconsumption.
