The release of the new version of the Russian open source web server Angie 1.2.0 has been announced. The development is handled by the company "Web-Server"
, founded in 2022 by former employees of NGINX.
The updates include support for the latest version of the HTTP protocol (HTTP/3), as well as accumulated changes from the NGINX project repository version 1.25. Additionally, users of Angie now have access to a feature from its commercial version, Angie PRO: developers have added the sticky directive. This directive allows for session affinity, where all requests related to a single session are redirected to the same server when multiple backends are present. Support for Chinese encryption standards has also been implemented.
As noted by the CEO of "Web-Server," Zaur Abasmirzoev, the new updates expand the scope of application for the Russian web server. "Now Angie can operate seamlessly in high-load infrastructures that require more complex balancing methods. The ability to support Chinese encryption standards allows us to fulfill the company's strategic goals of promoting the product in the Chinese market, including at the state level," emphasized Zaur Abasmirzoev.
