# Angie and Angie PRO updated to version 1.8.1

*28.12.2024*

Version 1.8.1 of the Angie web server and its commercial version Angie PRO
has been released, including fixes for server statistics zone handling,
improvements to the ACME module for wildcard certificates, and important
fixes for the HTTP/3 protocol.

We have updated the Angie open-source web server and its commercial version
Angie PRO to version 1.8.1.

This release resolves a regression in the handling of server statistics zones
that was introduced after adding support for variables in the [status_zone](https://en.angie.software//angie/docs/configuration/modules/http/index.md#status-zone)
directive.

It also fixes a bug in the [ACME module](https://en.angie.software//angie/docs/configuration/modules/http/http_acme.md#http-acme) functionality
related to obtaining wildcard certificates. Certificate configuration is now
more reliable.

Version 1.8.1 includes backported fixes from the unreleased nginx 1.27.4 that
resolve important issues in the HTTP/3 protocol. Due to vendor policy changes
(see [commit](https://github.com/nginx/nginx/commit/c73fb273acc31bff7c4e469efda5f3fd66c48557)),
these fixes will only appear in nginx's main branch in the next release.

We understand that releasing updates on the last working day of the year is not
ideal, but it was necessary to fix the identified bugs and ensure stability.
