The Russian web server Angie, created by the former nginx team, has become a participant in an experiment to create a Russian repository. The corresponding order was published by the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia on May 31, 2023.

"For our company, the experiment to create a Russian repository is a great opportunity to act as a tester for this initiative and evaluate its performance within the lifecycle of changes in our products," said Zaur Abasmirzoev, CEO of the Web Server company. "It is important for the country to have a trusted source of software products, which the Russian repository can become. This will allow domestic companies to upload their source code base while also enabling critical information infrastructure (CII) entities to install secure software. At the same time, we see the need to address the legal aspects of the Russian repository, at least regarding licenses," noted the expert.
